Сегодня Папа Римский Бенедикт XVI прибыл в Турцию с четырехдневным визитом.Today, Pope Benedict XVI arrived in Turkey with a four-day visit.В аэропорту Папу встречал глава турецкого правительства Реджеп Тайип Эрдогон.At the airport, the Pope met the head of the Turkish government Recep Tayyip Erdogon.
В ходе визита у Бенедикта XVI запланированы встречи с верховным муфтием Турции, а также с главой константинопольского патриархата. During the visit, Benedict XVI is scheduled to meet with the Grand Mufti of Turkey, as well as with the head of the Constantinople Patriarchate.
А вот встретиться для более обстоятельной беседы с турецкими чиновниками понтифику вряд ли получится: премьер-министр Реджеп Тайип Эрдоган покинет страну в дни визита, Мехмет Айдын, государственный министр, курирующий религиозные вопросы, от встречи с Его Святейшеством отказался.
