As a child I was fortunate enough to visit South America. В силу возраста впечатлений осталось не так много, но карнавал забыть было невозможно. Только недавно я узнала, что и на Руси имели место карнавальные действа, не уступающие бразильским. Only recently I learned that in Russia there were carnival performances that rivals Brazil. Только случались они в конце февраля – начале марта, на масленицу. Only cases they are at the end of February - early March, Carnival. Русский колорит, знаете ли. Russian flavor, you know.Почему-то сейчас этот праздник ассоциируется исключительно с блинами (а для нас с вами, милые дамы, это означает кастрюлю теста, сковородку с жиром и полдня у плиты). Масленичная неделя была буквально переполнена праздничными делами: обрядовые и внеобрядовые действия, традиционные игры и затеи, обязанности и поступки до отказа заполняли дни. Сил, энергии, задора хватало на все, поскольку царила атмосфера предельной раскрепощенности, всеобщей радости и веселья.
